Polgoon Vineyard

Polgoon is dedicated to producing a range of artisan Cornish wines, ciders and juices on the family-run vineyard and orchard in Penzance, Cornwall.

John and Kim Coulson started Polgoon in 2004 after buying a run-down flower farm and deciding to plant some grapevines. Fifteen years on, they're now producing award-winning wines, ciders and juices from the vineyard and orchard in Penzance and Polgoon has become a top tourist destination, offering vineyard tours, wine tasting and a café to the thousands of locals and holiday-makers keen to know more about Cornish wine.

The Vineyard Shop is open 7 days a week. Here you can purchase Polgoon's wines, ciders and juices alongside a variety of high quality, locally produced products such as honey from Polgoon bees, fresh eggs, Cornish cheeses, chutneys, biscuits and chocolates.

Vineyard Tours:

The Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter tours provide a fascinating insight into the activities of a working Cornish vineyard and orchard. To take part in the wine-tasting you must be 18 years or over but, we do offer our soft drinks to those who aren’t. Booking is a must – especially during August!

Starting at 2pm the tour takes approximately 90 minutes and includes a stroll around the vineyard and orchard learning about the different fruit varieties and their care and pruning regimes. It then looks at the production processes in the winery and concludes with a tasting of 5 of Polgoon wines, including our international award-winning sparkling wines, still wines and ciders.

Tours cost £12.50 per person, children go free and will be served soft drinks.

Spring/Summer tours are available Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 2pm from March to end of September.

Autumn/Winter tours take place from October until December on Thursdays at 2pm and are weather dependent.

Please book in advance on tours@polgoon.com or call on 01736 333 946.
