Following the change in Government Guidelines, we are opening up our full range of spa treatments.

We ask that all guests and visitors to the Spa observe and respect our strict COVID-19 advice and guidelines prior to and during treatments to protect yourself and our team.:

Changes to all normal operational procedures will include:

  • strict measures to separate clients from each other, and to separate practitioners from mixing with clients
  • operating an appointment-only booking system to minimise the number of people on the premises at any one time
  • keeping the activity time involved to a minimum
  • increasing the frequency of handwashing and surface cleaning, as well as regularly cleaning equipment or using disposable equipment where possible
  • avoiding skin to skin contact and wearing gloves where it is not crucial to the service
  • maintaining sufficient spacing between customers
  • not allowing food or drink, other than water, to be consumed in the salon by customers
  • making sure a limited and fixed number of workers work together if they have to be in close proximity to do their jobs

These restrictions will limit the number of treatment rooms available at any one time and demand for appointment times will be increased.

In your room - each room has a thorough deep clean between guests.

We will not enter your room during your stay (unless in an emergency or specifically requested) - should you need additional products or fresh towels etc, please ask at reception.

The doors and windows remain open to allow good ventilation.

All non-residents will be asked to complete a track and trace form.

The current dinner menu is slightly reduced but with all of the Gannet favourites, QR codes are available for the menus to reduce paper wastage and touch points.

15.3.20 - Covid-19

Following the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic The Gannet Inn would like to reassure our guests that we are fully aware and closely following all Government and Health Service guidelines for COVID-19. Additional measures have been taken to provide the safest possible environment for your stay.

As standard, we have very rigorous and thorough cleaning routines but have added to those with more frequent cleaning of surfaces, “touch points” such as handles, knobs, light switches and public areas.

Whilst our team is doing their very best to keep themselves and our guests healthy, we would ask that all guests practice good hand hygiene also, and, if during your stay you feel at all unwell, especially developing a high temperature or a newly acquired continuous cough you inform us immediately.

Most importantly please do not arrive for a stay at The Gannet Inn if you have recently stayed in one of the countries where incidences of Corona infection are more advanced than in the UK. We take this very seriously and we reserve the right to ask you to provide evidence of your temperature if we have worries about your state of health.

If you have any concerns or questions regarding your stay, please telephone our reservations team on 01736 795651.

18.3.20 - Business as Usual

As we are all faced with times of uncertainty due to the outbreak of COVID-19, I wish to reassure you that the safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff remain our primary concern and focus.

We are monitoring the situation daily and taking additional precautionary measures. These include deep-cleaning procedures in all rooms, public areas and restaurant together with regular strict hygiene checks throughout all departments.

I understand that many of our guests have concerns about travelling at this time and seek to reassure you about any travel plans you may have to visit us.

It is business as usual both at the Gannet Inn and our nearby Carbis Bay Hotel and we are committed to offering flexibility regarding existing bookings wherever possible.

We remain vigilant in tightening our procedures in line with recommendations and guidelines from the World Health Organisation and our Government and, as always, our team will continue with their commitment to providing memorable and meaningful experiences for all of you who stay with us.

If you have any specific requirements or would like to ask any questions prior to your arrival, please do not hesitate to call our team on 01736 795311.

I hope to be able to welcome all of you to The Gannet Inn in the coming weeks and months to embrace with us our stunning Cornish coastline, ocean breezes and to delight in our warm welcome and extensive facilities at the nearby Carbis Bay Estate.

21.3.20 - Covid-19 Announcement

It is with very deep regret that from Sunday, 22nd March, 2020, and in positive support of our Government and our country, we have to announce that, with the health and safety of everyone in mind, we will be closing our hotels, spa, and restaurants until May, 2020.

Those of you who already know us will appreciate that we do this with great sadness and a heavy heart. It is an extremely difficult decision to have made and one never contemplated in all our many years of welcoming you, our guests and visitors, to Carbis Bay.

With your future help and encouragement, so meaningful to us as always, we will come through this time of uncertainty and still be here, “on the beach”, to host and share with you your holidays, celebrations and memorable times in your lives.

Our team will help with anything and everything they can. Please take a look at our further information below and feel free to contact us at any time.

We will retain and continue to work with our team of staff in coordinating our approach and we look forward to seeing you later in the Spring.

Our beautiful Carbis Bay and all that we offer is waiting for you.

We send you our smiles and our very best wishes.

Stephen and José Baker
